The Stuff of Dreams_ Material Encounters & Urban Interventions.

The workshop highlights the material dimensions of our world as key factors in the design process. This material dimensions are strongly related to senses and feelings, but to heritage, social and even environmental issues as well. The workshop will activate some short tasks to raise awareness of the importance of the material world in a certain context, to finally design a proposal for an urban intervention. Understanding the material dimension of the places and spaces we inhabit brings sustainability, as a meaningful and conscious relation with the environment, at the forefront. The importance of the situated dimension of design and its practice becomes the underlayer of any design interaction of human beings with their context.
