SISU_LINE 2A The Impact of Space
The 2-part spatial research magazine SISU_LINE #2 of the Estonian Association of Interior Architects brings together the topic of how space affects people and people affect space, or what human interventions inspire us. In part A, architect Juhani Pallasmaa explores the spirituality and atmosphere of architecture, based on the contact of mind and body in space. Graeme Brooker from the Royal College of Art in London discusses the changing nature of interior architecture as a profession and different approaches to interiors. Interior architect Kees Spanjers from Amsterdam analyzes the role of human-centered design in the Netherlands and focuses on the motivations for creating a new functional space. Young architect Aet Ader uses personal life experience to give an honest overview of the patterns of use of living spaces in Tallinn. Film master's student Ingel Vaikla discusses the contradiction between human lifestyle and institutional architectural policy using two “Living Architectures” video installations.
