Monumental Inventions
The "Monumental Inventions" series explores the theme of scale and invention: pictures of details of Carlo Scarpa’s work (taken by the author) are dissected and re-assembled through montage technique into new compositions at a “monumental” scale, which evoke spaces, places, landscapes. In these terms, the artist/designer/architect never creates, but invents: the Latin word “inventio” means “to find again”, “discover” something that already exists, which, transformed, translated, transfigured through design becomes a new piece of art, architecture, design. Pieces of this series have been published and showcased in exhibitions in the USA and UK (Royal Academy of Arts).
