Biophilic Design Principles at The Spine Building

In 2017 Stephen Edge was commissioned by AHR architects of Manchester to create a biophilic (our innate desire to connect with nature) design strategy for their clients the Royall College of Physicians (RCP) and their new £35 million HQ, The Spine in Liverpool https://www.ahr.co.uk/projects/the-spine The Spine is the first building in the world to attain a WELL (rating system) Platinum for the interior fit-out and structure, and a BREEAM Building Research Establishments Environmental Assessment Method (rating system) Outstanding for the construction. Also, with 109 out of a possible 110 WELL Credits, it’s the highest of any WELL (over 4000) certified buildings Worldwide. Stephen outlines his biophilic design strategy and AHRs design approach to one of the healthiest buildings in the world.
